It is likely that the majority of stainless steel coffee makers are sold because they have that different look. The brushed stainless finish almost always looks nicer then a regular white plastic coffee maker carafe and glass. Especially in kitchens today is extra nice, and often with stainless steel appliances, are not we all want it to match?
What some people may not realize is that there is more to a stainless steel coffee machine when only one face. There are two important advantages especially I like having a stainless steel maker in my usual plastic glass carafe coffee maker. One is to do with spare parts, the other to do with how my coffee taste every morning.
Maybe you have not done this, but leaving a glass carafe in the sink for a day then do the dishes that evening offers a pretty good chance you could crack that carafe. Especially if you add more dishes in the top of the carafe through the day. A stainless steel coffee maker often comes with a stainless steel carafe. Guess what, tough to break a stainless steel carafe coffee. You can drop it on the floor, leave it in the sink, although some put in the dishwasher to reduce cleaning time. I love it, can not beat something that I do not have to wash and I can not break it.
Now the other benefit of a stainless steel coffee maker also has to do with the carafe. Often when I brew a half pot of coffee for myself, I may not be around to drink while it is fresh. The burner on the machine tends to burn the coffee and reduce the flavor and aroma, with a stainless steel carafe is often the thermal well. That is, they do not require the other heat source keeps the coffee warm inside by sealing in the heat, and being isolated in the body. Just as you take a thermos to work with you.
Prices range from under one hundred to several hundred dollars for a stainless steel coffee maker. All the major brands offer a stainless steel version of its best selling models, including Cuisinart, Black and Decker, and Kitchen Aid. If you want to buy a new drip coffee maker, be sure to consider a stainless steel model, and remember the extra few dollars may cost not only to sharp looking brushed stainless steel finish, it is for new features to.
