The “chick magnet” 1892 Lange Ulig (Triple reed) Chemnitzer Concertina Accordian Solo. A concertina with ornate mother-of-pearl flower inlay. The result is “eye popping” spectacular! Oh, abalone and MOP is about $15.00 a square inch in price – 1mm from Vietnam and that doesn’t include the the diamond cut jewelers saw that would be required to cut the intricate patterns and labor. The inlay would be extremely expensive to reproduce today. Sure, she needs an oil change after 100 years. Tuning is from the time period . But, rest assured, this old concertina attracts the younger women today. That is why I don’t mind bringing it with me “downtown”.
