A growing trend is to throw away coffee grounds to a compost heap, so that the nutrients contained in enriching compost, but it is only touching the tip of the iceberg. Here are some uses of tea leaves that you would never have considered but that you should take a moment to think about before you throw your next batch of coffee grounds in the trash.
Addition to being used as a component of your compost, coffee grounds can also help the plants themselves. Mix a few coffee grounds in with the soil at planting flowers and other plants favored form acidic soil. The plants can absorb the nutrients as they grow.
Some horticultural crops such as carrots and radishes make especially good with coffee grounds, and you can increase your returns by mixing in a few bases with the seeds before planting. Adding additional coffee grounds around the base of plants as they grow can give them an extra boost at a much lower cost for most plant foods and fertilizers.
In addition, if you try to control pests, coffee grounds can have a wonderful effect on this process. Put coffee grounds around the base of your home in areas where insects and other pests are entering, or mix them with compost while doing landscape to keep ants and termites from attacking your mulch bed.
Putting used grounds around plants or flowers in the garden will also repel slugs and snails which can otherwise cause serious damage to your plants. If the pests that you are concerned about is the larger variety, sprinkling coffee grounds over discounts can help keep cats, dogs and other animals from digging in the bed or harm your plants. For greater efficiency, mix coffee grounds with small portions of fresh orange peel before placing in the discounts.
This option is really not for everyone, but coffee grounds can also be used as a beauty product too. They can enrich the hair, softer skin and also helps to control unwanted cellulite. Coffee grounds can be a wonderful exfoliating and can be as simple as applying them wet to the skin and then rub them over your skin, rinse them. Again, this application is not for everyone.
Assuming that you have not been bleached or very light hair which easily absorbs paint, a similar method can be used to enrich your hair while taking a shower, rub the tea leaves in her hair, then rinse them off to make your hair softer and add additional shine to it.
