Police report for Monday, March 15, 2010
SUNDAY A man who was angry over whether or not he was entitled to a free cup of coffee pushed over a Plexiglass pastry case at about 8:40 a.m. Sunday at Lakeshore Coffee and Specialties, 444 Wabash St. According to the store manager and an employee, the store had been offering a free second cup of coffee to customers who would drink the first cup in the shop and then use the same cup for their …

Monday Morning Crew, volunteers honored
When the “Monday Morning Crew” gets to the Welcome Inn Warming Center at 6 a.m., homeless people are already waiting outside in the cold. For the last six years, Bruce Castle, George Boyd, Jerry Snider and Mickey Inman, retirees who have gone to school, worked and taught together, have checked them in, helped with coffee and whatever else needed to be done.
