That way I prepare the coffee the night before and let the timer bridge every morning. The thermal carafe keeps it hot enough for me all morning. Some complained that it is difficult to fill. I have a two cup plastic measuring cup that goes into the device with the extracted coffee basket and then tilts and pours easily.
