Try this Honey Party Punch, which is a citrus-honey punch which may be a bit of fizz ginger ale. For hot drinks try Butterscotch Flavored Coffee or Debbie’s Hot Spiced Cider.
HONEY PARTY PUNCH
2 cups boiling water
3 / 4 cup honey < br /> 4 cups cranberry juice
2 cups orange juice
a cup of lemon juice
quarter ginger ale ice cubes
Sliced lemons , limes, oranges, and / or strawberries, optional
Combine boiling water and honey. Stir to dissolve honey. Chill mixture. In a large punch bowl, combine juice. Stir in honey water. Just before serving, add ginger ale and ice cubes. Float fruit slice on top Garnish, if desired.
Yield: Serves 12
butterscotch flavored coffee p> 8 cups hot freshly brewed coffee
a cup butterscotch baking chips
1 / 2 cup cream
6 tablespoons sugar, or sugar to taste Whipped cream
additional butterscotch chips to garnish, if desired
In a 2-stop heat-proof pitcher, pour the toffee chips, add hot coffee. Stir until chips are melted. Add cream and sugar, stirring to blend. Pour the coffee in the cafeteria cups. Top each cup with a little whipped cream and some caramel chips, if desired.
Debbie’s spicy HOT CIDER
8 cups apple cider or juice
1 / 2 cup packed
brown sugar 3 3-inch cinnamon sticks
1 / 2 teaspoon ground allspice dash salt
1 / 8 tsp ground nutmeg
; Additional cinnamon sticks for garnish, optional
In a large saucepan, combine the cider or juice, brown sugar, cinnamon sticks 3, allspice, salt and nutmeg, bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Discard cinnamon sticks. Using the additional cinnamon sticks as stirrers in cups, if desired.
Yield: about 1 / 2 liters
