My Website- merrillk.com This is my tribute to caffeine junkies, coffee addicts, red bull chuggers, mountain dew doers, Amp addicts, Jolt juicers and tea tasters. It was made with a variety of media; both traditional and digital (tradigital). I started out with pencil and sharpie markers, to set deep base tones that will be seen after several layers are added. Next, I used illustration markers as a quick means of adding the first layer of color. Next, I used color pencils to create a layer of translucent, blended color. The color pencils also serve as a ground for the oil paint layer (which is next). I use oil paint because it is so versatile, it can be applied thin or thick and it is easy to mix a range of colors- which is important when you are mixing flesh tones. I finish the artwork with oil pastels and color pencils. Then I scan it, cut it out on photoshop and juxtapose my two characters over a digital photo. Please comment, rate and subscribe if you wish! I need the tea as well! I am more of a “tourist” at Starbucks (very sensitive to caffeine)…….Snapple and Arizona Iced Tea are my Caffeine “Fixes” of choice!!! Thanks for commenting!

I had a lot of fun making this one! I got the idea standing in line at Starbucks when there was a new employee working and everyone needed their caffiene FIX!!!!! New Yorkers are impatient in the first place but we start to BOUNCE when we are deprived of our caffeine!

I lucked out….I have a beam that I ran a LONG screw through. The end of the screw fits in to my camera (most cameras have a hole with threading for screws- for tripods). If you dont have a beam, I recommend that you search for ceiling camera mounts (the cheaper ones that can be clamped are better)….Let me know if you have any more questions!
