I used to be able to connect to WiFi, which I received from a cafe, but they changed the SSID and now I can not ansluta.Windows argue this is potentially a low signal quality, but I got decent signal quality before they are switched SSID.Jag is not a laptop, but I have a WiFi Finder which can find the network with decent strength outside kaféet.Men, as I said above, argues window signal may be asked for svag.Misstag this twice, sorry.Nej, it is an unsecured network, no password or similar required.

they probably figured out you were using their free internet and changed their security from WAP to WEP or vis versa

Maybe they have it password-protected? (They might have discovered people were leeching off their internet. :P ) Having your own connection would be much more reliable.

they may have also installed the film which reduces transmission outside their establishment inside their space… it’s like tin foil to interfere w/ signal transmission, and even comes in a fairly transparent form to put on windows.

They may have swapped out their hardware to prevent people like you from stealing their signal. So, go to the the coffee shop with your laptop and try there, if it doesn’t work ask them why, then bring your laptop home and continue as usual.

I would think that when the coffee shop changed its SSID that they might have changed equipment. It is possible that this new equipment is lower-powered in order to prevent people from outside the shop from connecting. After all, the wifi is supposed to be for their customers, not the entire neighborhood.

Go downstairs, buy a cup of coffee and ask them for the new password. Usually it is something very simple like the name of the coffee shop. If you have an older model computer that can’t read the type of encryption you might be out of luck or you might need to get an external WiFi router that is capable of working with your computer and their type of encryption. Good luck.

there was a time when i purchased wifi which had an 8 block circumference around the business building. i had the service for a bout 2 years and i could listen to C2C on streaming audio from the public park and library or even the unemployment center. I could also connect at Wendys or another local busniness, they upgraded their service and i could not longer get it. except for a larger fee.

now there are wifi companies everywhere that use Cell phone technology to give internet, and it can be just as strong as dial up are better.
public libraries also have wifi around their properties and for free. i could spend all day at the library thanks to the tax payers. and city council and legistlatures for the budget
