It’s drip coffee.
Been sitting in the coffee maker pot.
Nice and cold too.
Too tired to make a new pot.

It should be fine, microwave it and enjoy!

  • Steveo says:

its been at room temp then no because of bacteria growth in the bad temp zone

  • art major student says:

haha i think its fine. its not gonna kill you or make you sick haha

  • Sweetbean36 says:

sure – just pop it in the microwave…

  • sidekick says:

    yes

  • richard r says:

Yes, it’s ok. You might dilute it a little bit, then microwave it.

Day old coffee is fine to drink.. it may not taste as good as freshly brewed, but go ahead and knock yourself out!

  • birgit says:

I’ve done that, but I boiled it in a pan to warm/kill the parasites. I lived.

    Sure, drink up!
This was how I discovered how to make ice coffee. Left a cup of pre-made coffee in the fridge over night. Better then Starbucks!
The only time it’s not good to drink day old coffee is if you’ve already added creamer or milk (it’s the dairy product that spoils, not the coffee).
    Enjoy!

This depends on a lot of things:

    - Temperature in the room
    - Type of Coffee used
    - Type of water used (tap or filtered)
    - How you plan to drink it.

Pretty much what this comes down to is that bacteria will have grown in the coffee over night, but the amount and the severity of the bacteria is based on the first three things above. Realistically, you could drink this out of your toilet bowl, and your chances are fairly low of getting sick, but the possibility still exists.

I would say, don’t drink it cold, because then you really do have a higher risk of it being “unsafe.” As I’m sure a ton of people are going to say, just microwave it for 30 seconds, and you’ll be fine. Microwave emissions not only heat the coffee, they actually do a good job of killing any bacteria as well.

it’s okey but next time you should really put it in the refrigerator

I dunno… I had a day old cappichino and threw up shortly after.

But if it’s just been sitting there I SUPPOSE it’s harmless. But who really wants cold, or microwaved, coffee? Just make some more, or get a hot chocolate (mmm much better, and with marshmallows!!!)

  • scott s says:

absolutely it is safe to drink, but does not taste near as good!

  • ed-mike says:

Coffee is what we in the food industry call a tight item. It has nothing that a bacteria can live off of in it, and is far too acidic. It can sit out for a couple of days but then the outer part of the pot can become contaminated.

  • icee85_76 says:

Yeah. Might not taste good, but its safe.

  • ambercandy says:

I’ve done it many times, but I heat it up in the microwave first. This should kill any bacteria that have grown overnight. (It also doesn’t taste as good as fresh brewed coffee, as you probably already know.)

  • tech.freek says:

probably. Though if you have sensitive stomach or have been sick lately or have heart conditions, it isnt worth the risk.

  • Hannah N says:

yeah but it is really disgusting

  • D K says:

As long as you haven’t added anything to it, it will be fine. Heat it to 165 degrees throughout and it will kill any beasties that may have started growing overnight.

  • i_do_not_like_stupidity says:

It is totally safe, unless it had milk and you let it sit out. If it was just black coffee sitting in a pot,it may taste a little stale, but it’s safe.
