Have never really been into coffee, but am trying to get away from diet soda. With that in mind what should I try first that won’t turn me off to coffee??

You should try something sweet. My favorites are Caramel Frapuccino (cold) and Caramel Macchiato (hot). I’m not a coffee drinker but these are the drinks I always ordered.

Try a more homeopathic way to get a natural high. By using coffee or diet soda you’re burning a hole in your wallet and turning your teeth yellow, as well as adding pounds. Try exercise, or mid-day yoga. It really helps.

    ……………
why would you want to start on coffee?
coffee is a drug and you can get addicted to it, so i therefore recommend you NOT to like to “Start” on coffee
    further more, WHY STARBUCKS?
do you HOW much money they make compared to how much they spend…it’s so expensive + it’s not that good.

go to country style, tim hortons, or even second cup1!~!!!

just order something that sounds appealing, but coffee = bad for health.

I don’t like straight coffee either and I started off on the frappacinos with a flavor like carmel. Those are pretty good.

OK…here’s what might be a PC answer….if you really want to start drinking coffee…..first, why? If for the taste, then do decaff for sure. If for caffiene, research risks I benefits….don’t scoff…this is only smart when dealing with your health. Then decide can you afford to consume the higher calorie frapps, etc? If not you’ll want something lite, and Starbucks is good at these…Lactose intolerant? Go Soy which is also tasty….It may sound anal & too analytical….but, if you’re going to acquire a habit that might have a downfall for your health…ie: caffiene consumption…it’s best to look at it from all angles….and above all…..use basic common sense….& brush your teeth so people won’t worry about the “discoloration” which I have never seen as a prob….Good luck! Also, if this is all too much, just consult with your Satrbucks barrista…they’re very helpful!

You can have a drip coffee or”coffee of the day ” at Starb. which is cheapest, then add milk or half n half and sweetener as desired. Or an Americano which is an espresso that you can also add to it what you wish. …watch out for the loaded sugar you will get with the flavored coffee drinks Try the sugar free versions or just add splenda to a latte.Starbucks has a limited variety of suagr free flavors but other coffee stands often have a large variety.Decide if you like a milky version-tha t would be a latte then think nonfat or full fat-a breve latte is made w half n half for instance. The iced coffee drinks like a frappacino are loaded with sugar. You can also get decaf if you wish to curb caffeine but that may defeat the purpose of getting an energy boost.

You should order nothing at Starbucks. If you want ‘real’ coffee avoid oversweetened drinks of any kind. Starbucks is not proper coffee, regadless of the thousands of different ways you can get drinks there. And the person making it is not a proper ‘barista’, just because they stand behind the counter and can do a soy-decaf-grande-hazelnut-frappaccino!

Switch to tea (and not the iced sugary versions either). But if you must, stick to something milky (flat white, latte), before moving on to espresso’s or macchiatto’s. Try weak and decaf to avoid becoming addicted!
