My favorite green tea is made by the Numi Tea Company, it has a funny name, but it is so delicious. It is called Monkey King; it is a wonderfully fragrant jasmine green tea. It is so so nice to relax with a cup in the evening time.
As far as coffee goes I like 8 O’Clock coffee. I would just get a nice breakfast blend if they have it, that should be the nice and light blend you are looking for. Recent consumers taste tests rate it as number one, even above Starbucks.
PS. If you really want to boost the health benefits of your green tea use a LOCAL honey as a sweetener. Using local honey instead of store bought will bring you many more benefits including but not limited to a reduction in allergies and and increase in energy!
I REALLY like Lavazza. It has a rich, almost chocolaty, flavor. It is absolutely delicious! It’s not bitter at all!
The best way to make straight coffee is buying a french press ($10-$15 US)
Put coffee in, put hot water in. Wait. Put plunger in that drains coffee, pour into cup.
Best. Ever.
Straight loose-leaf green tea is always good, I’ve never had a bad cup (as long as the leaves aren’t old).
I’ve have almost every way to make coffee @ home and I love them all. The mildest & cleanest coffee I’ve ever had is either brewed with a vacuum pot (not a thermos like someone else thought I meant) or cold brewed. The French press is great, but the coffee is richer & stronger.
Cold brewed is very easy to make & creates a concentrate you can use for weeks. All you do is In a container mix 1/2 pound coarse ground with 5-6 cups of cold water. Let it soak in the fridge for 12 hours (I stir it twice in the first hour to make sure all the grounds are wet). Pour it through a fine mesh strainer into another container. Let it drip for about an hour to get as much liquid to drain out. This makes a concentrate you can store i an air tight container for up to 3 weeks. Mix 1-3 oz of concentrate with the remainder of the cup of hot water (depending on taste preference) to make a smooth, non acidic coffee.
The vac pot is also easy. You put water in the bottom, coffee grounds in the top & apply heat. As the water boils, it goes up a straw to the grounds, brews as long as you apply heat, remove from heat & the coffee goes back into the bottom & wet grounds stay on top.
The cold brew makes it easier and I bring some with me to work & just add hot water from the water cooler & I have delicious coffee in 30 seconds.
