I’m getting a new laptop soon and I wonder how Internet cafes work. Using the WiFi? Do I need to buy any additional equipment to access the Internet or will they just have a cable that I can connect to my computer? Thanks!

Your laptop should automatically detect it. Just sit and wait for the connection to show up and browse the website. No equipment needed.
Make sure you have a wireless card installed in your laptop; preferably 802.11a/g/n. Most, but not all, already have one installed. You’ll see a little computer icon in the tray in the lower left hand corner of your screen indicationg whether you’ve picked up the cafe’s signal or not. You can also click on it and choose other signals that are in range.
