The Coffee Cup

Everyday before work I stop and get a coffee at Dunkins or Starbucks I get an iced caramel latte from Dunkins and my favorite is the iced caramel macchiato from Starbucks but it adds up everyday $4. 25 for a coffee adds up! I am trying to make it from home. I have an espresso machine but I don’t know the first thing about making it. I don’t even know what to buy at the store. I know vanilla and caramel but I don’t have a clue when it comes to espresso. What would I buy if I were to go to Stop & Shop or Market basket, or other local grocery store? What type of coffee should I use? I know this sounds ridiculous but is espresso just a different way of making coffee or is it a different bean altogether? All I know is I want to try making it from home so I need help when it comes to the rest. Could you explain everything I need to do to make it (even if it seems like something I should know, I probably don’t, please explain) Any other tips, tricks or facts you know would be helpful as well.

Do i need to steam milk or froth? I also dont know a thing about that. . . when do u steam or froth?

I have an emerson combo coffee and espresso maker but I dont have the manual and cannot find it online- any help with that would be greatly appreciated! thanks!
