My previous DeLonghi coffee maker lasted for ten years and would still work if I could find a replacement pot. This new model bulky to load the swing basket had to swing fully to fill up. The water leaked after three uses. Moreover, there was no way to keep your coffee hot. Hot plate off after coffee is brewed to rely on the metal carafe to keep it warm. It did not. Very sad this was not the quality I expected. Rating: 2 / 5

We ordered the September 08 and waited 2 months until the new model came out. Arrived in November leaked and made a mess on the counters. Husband hated it! We requested a replacement and Amazon sent it. (Amazon does a good job for customers with problems) replaces leaked and not hot enough to brew good coffee flavor. Back to our Cuisinart, always hot, good and never leak! Only pro. . . . We liked the streamlined fit / look of this coffee maker. We like good coffee MORE! Rating: 2 / 5

WHAT DISSAPPOINTMENT and a waste of money in a COFFMAKER with thermal carafe. Front ACCESS is wonderful BUT Maker does not make hot coffee. WHY THE CARAFE not keep The Coffee HOT IN THE PAST IS NOT HOT BREW. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE WAY PITCHER entered all correct, the coffee drops ALL OVER the outside of the pot and Maker. I would not recommend this to anyone who likes a good hot cup of coffee. Furthermore, LIP PITCHER TERRIBBLE to pour from. Sorry I did not keep the box from Amazon, so I stuck with it on my basement shelf or bin. Rating: 1 / 5

Have used this coffee maker in a few months and have not had any problems at all. The front fill feature is great, though, you can not just dump a lot of water because of, or naturally, you get a spill. Have found that the temperature of the coffee stays warm for quite a few hours after making. Although not for me, ten cups of coffee does not last that long anyway and I am not against making a new pot. Maybe it helps that I always pre-heating of stainless carafe with hot water before you make a pott.Som a comparison I use also a model Cuisinart DTC-975BKN thermal carafe 12-cup coffee maker, which is a fantastic machine, but more expensive of course. By the way, if I had the great DeLonghi against my Cuisinart, on a scale of 1-10, I would give it a solid 8 and would not be afraid to buy another one. It works well and makes a great pot of coffee. I chose this product because the manufacturer reputation, but their main selling point seems to be full frontal access which I think is overrated. I find it inconvenient to fill water reservoir, and discovered that if you put the coffee basket filled before pouring water, you may move your hands. My hand slipped while pouring the water, which then slopped over the coffee basket and tea bags went into the lower reservoir. The water level indicator is also difficult to read (if you do not have lighting in the cabinet). Other coffee maker has a water level indicator, which enlarges the number that the water poured in. Overall, this model makes a good cup of coffee, but the ease of use could be much better. Rating: 3 / 5
